It's good to see everyone posting! Katie, apparently you neglected to click 'publish' after you posted, so I published your post for you. Let me know if you need any help.
Well, Laura and I left at 6:15 this morning to drive to Truman State University today--it's a 217 mile, 3.5 hour trip. Laura was going down to be interviewed as part of the competition for the General John J. Pershing scholarship--the most prestigious they offer! (Pardon my paternal bragging!) We had a good trip, the weather cooperated, not very cold, and no rain. Laura had her interview, and then we ate lunch with a Cor Jesu alum who is a sophomore at Truman now. She seems to like Truman a lot, says it is hard work but that she was well prepared by CJ. Laura met a girl from Bayless, also interviewing, who has French class with Amanda. Another girl interviewing for one of the scholarships is a girl Laura knows for Assumption Life team. Talk about old home week!
Whenever I go visit a college campus, I am ready to go back. I just love the academeic atmosphere (as a student!). I like the campus, it's pretty compact, and I would have no problems with Laura going there. Now she just has to wait and see what other offers come through. Please say a prayer that God will guide her to make a good choice. I'm really proud of my girl, and very happy for her. Talk to you all later.

Hi everyone, Katie here. Adam's off at a rehearsal tonight (big surprise), so I'll be entering our post for tonight. Great idea, Tom! This will be fun for keeping track of everyone. Especially with Joe & Lois, Nancy, and Mike & Jen out of town. Adam and I finished wallpapering the baby's room last weekend with the help of my mother, who is an expert wallpaperer (is that a word?). Last night, after I spent the whole weekend cleaning, waxing, and buffing the floors, we moved in the crib and rocking chair. Next weekend we will be getting the changing table and armoire. It's starting to look more and more like a nursery. It's very exciting!! I know that we still have 3 months (14 weeks to be precise) until the baby arrives, but we wanted to be really prepared just in case she decides to come early! (with us as parents, I can't imagine that happening though!) Everytime we go to Babies-R-Us or Target, we come home with some new cute little thing... everything's just so irresistable! No agreement on the name yet... we're still "discussing." We'll be sure to let everyone know if we can ever agree on one. Hope everyone is staying warm. Take care. - Katie & Adam & "baby"
Greetings to all you cold people up north. It is 77 degrees today in Goodyear. We went up to the clubhouse to go swimming last week. The water temp is a nice 84 degrees. Joe bought a used golf cart. It's not too powerful, but it runs. We are not sure if we want to stick with an electric one or get a gas one later on. We're not too sure how long this one will last. it is a 1992 but was reconditioned in 1996. We also found out that the six batteries which last 3-4 years cost about $500. Was I shocked!! Every day is a learning experience. I'm taking a decorating class which I really love. We go on field trips all around Phoenix and Scottsdale. Then we also go through people's homes. We went through a home today that had Asian art. I'm sure the art alone was $100,000 easily. I've joined the Good Time Gals club which has as its mission and function -- read the title! Joe is working for Jerry Walker down here on some of his fireworks shows. he does the electrical work only. We're not sure how many hours this will entail, but he thinks maybe only 20 hours a month or so. We'll see. Take Care. See you in march.
